Senate Bill 291, La. R.S. 37:2418, created Louisiana's physical therapy Direct Access provision in June 2016.
In June 2016, Louisiana enacted the Physical Therapy Practice Act Direct Access provision (Senate Bill 291, La. R.S. 37:2418). Under it, qualified physical therapists may evaluate and treat patients without a physician referral or prescription.

The 30-Day Rule
